Prošlogodišnjim dolaskom Vesne Čitaković Đurišić, nekadašnjim kapitenom reprezentacije Srbije i užičkih odbojkašica, Jedinstvo je dobilo veliku podršku, energiju i znanje. Slavna odbojkašica nije mirovala, i za kratko vreme uspela je da stabilizuje kluba. Odbojkašice su posle kraće pauze započele pripreme za ovogodišnju takmičarsku sezonu, a pred devojkama i upravom je jasan cilj- povratak u superligaško društvo. U tu svrhu doveden je i novi trener, Tomislav Kukanjac, sad već bivši strateg muške odbojkaške ekipe Crvene Zvezde. -Neka moja ideja I cela priča zašto sam se vratila u Jedinstvo je i ta što uopšte u sportu manjka sportskih radnika. -Prethodna godina bila je na neki način pilot projekat, htela sam da vidim gde smo, šta smo, kakva je atmosfera i koliko možemo. Sada krećemo punom parom, jer imamo cilj, a to je povratak u elitino društvo. Želimo da se ovde u Velikom parku ponovo okupe ljubitelj odbojke. Svi se sećaju da je u ovom nekada hramu ženske odbojke bilo i pet hiljada navijača, dva orksetra trubača, koji su pozdravljali
naše uspehe. Nadam se da ćemo te dane slave ponovo vratiti Jedinstvu.
Vesna ističe da je čitavog života u odbojci, za Jedinstvo je veže 9 titula osvajača KUP-a, 11 titula šampiona države, I vicešampionska titula u Evro Kupu. Zato je njena želja da njen nekadašnji klub ponovo zasija punim sjajem, ali i otkriva da je jedan od motiva i taj što u sportu nema kvalitetnih sportskih radnika:
pokušati na nekim novim generacijama prenesem neko moje iskustvo, da to organizujem malo na bolji način , jer Užice i Jedinstvo je grad i klub u kome sam se ja afirmisala i kao čovek i kao igrač, i evo me
ovde .
Jedinstvo je od prošlogodišnjeg sastava slabije za odlazak Sonje Radulović ali I jači sa povratnicima u svoj matični klub, Marije Tomašević I Anđele Nenadić. Sve ostale devojke su na okupu, klub je odlicno organizovan, ali finansijska podrska mogla bi biti I bolja. Novi tener Jedinstva Tomislav Kukanjac je sa odbojkašima Crvene Zvezde osvojio četiri titule šampiona Srbije, tri KUP-a i četiri Superkupa Srbije. Za njegov dolazak u Veliki park presudili su ozbiljnost i organizovanost u klubu, ali i želja da Užice ponovo bude grad ženske odbojke:
-Dopala mi se ozbiljnost i rad u Upravi, ne samo Vesnin, već i svih ljudi koji su ovde, i jednostavno sam odlučio da prihvatim ponudu. Radio sam sa devojkama u junu, video sam sa čim raspolažemo i mogu reći da sam zadovoljna. Naravno predstoji nam dosta rada i zalaganja, ali verujem da ćemo uspeti da ostvarimo cilj koji je pred nas stavljen , a to je povratak u Super ligu. Odbojkašice Jedinstva čitav pripremni period provešće u Užicu, vredno trenirajući u sportskoj dvorani Veliki park. Odigraće dosta
prijateljskih utakmica, a početkom oktobra čeka ih početak nove takmičarske sezone.
