U selu Veliko Grkljane nadomak Kruševca, od posledica infarkta, preminuo Jovan Srejić, istaknuti učesnik Bitke na Košarama 1999. godine, jedne od najtežih borbi u novijoj istoriji srpske vojske koja je postala simbol odbrane otadžbine.

Srejić je u to vreme bio pripadnik Vojske Jugoslavije na redovnom odsluženju vojnog roka i kao pripadnik herojske 125. motorizovane brigade doprineo je sprečavanju dajstava terorističke OVK, učestvujući u zaštiti stanovništva od napada terorista i zaštiti objekata od vitalnog značaja, piše Radio televizija Kruševac.

Živeo je u Velikom Grkljanu i bio istaknuti sportista i trener lokalnog fudbalskog kluba.

U svom rodnom mestu sahranjen je juče, u prisustvu brojnih meštana, prijatelja i saboraca iz 125. motorizovabne brigade.Preminuo je 24. februara u 43. godini.
