Doček Nove godine na Zlatiboru razlikovao se od svih ostalih do sada. Umesto koncerata, masovne publike, ludih provoda u kafićima, restoranima, hotelima i diskotekama, slavilo se u apartmanima, hotelskim sobama ili pod vedrim nebom. Noć je protekla mirno, glavna zabava bile su petarde i vatrometi, A nije zabeležen ni jedan incident. Prvog dana nove godine planinsko sunce je izmamilo turiste napolje, pa su požurili da prošetaju, popiju kafu u nekoj od bašti kafića, ručaju u nekom od brojnih restorana i sve oposle do 18 časova, kada će se vrata ugostiteljskih objekata ponovo zatvoriti. Zbog toga je danas na Zlatiboru teško naći slobodnu stolicu, pogotovo na otvorenom.Prema nezvaničnim podacima, Novu godinu na Zlatiboru je dočekalo oko 30.000 turista a veliki broj je onih koji su boravak na ovoj planini otpočeli danas, o čemu svedoče saobraćajne gužve na prilaznim magistralnim putevima. Pogled na zlatiborske ulice i pešačke staze ne može dati tačnu procenu o trenutnom broju turista ali se slobodno može reći da je Zlatibor prepun ljudi.Sprovođenje mera koje je doneo Krizni štab, na Zlatiboru kontroliše veliki broj komunalnih i sanitarnih inspektora, koji su još pre tri dana sa tim zadatkom došli na Zlatibor, a primećeno je i prisustvo žandarmerije.
