Danas je Sveti Prokopije, zaštitnik dece i mladenaca: Evo šta nikako ne smete da radite

U nekim srpskim krajevima smatra se da je ovaj dan pogodan za svadbe, jer Sveti Prokopije pohodi i blagosilja mladence

Srpska pravoslavna crkva i vernici danas proslavljaju Svetog Prokopija, jednog od ognjevitih svetaca. Njegov dan se svetkuje kao jedan od 18 “zaprečitih” dana u godini kada se odlažu svi teži i važniji poslovi.

U pojedinim delovima Srbije današnji dan se posebno praznuje radi zdravlja dece, dok se u nekim danas zabranjuje kupanje.

Prokopije je krsna slava pojedinih porodica, a a kamenoresci i rudari praznovali su ovaj dan kao slavu svojih zanata. Izbegavaju se svađe i psovanje.

U nekim srpskim krajevima smatra se da je ovaj dan pogodan za svadbe, jer sv. Prokopije pohodi i blagosilja mladence. U starini su Srbi rudari smatrali ovog svetitelja svojim zaštitnikom, a smatra se i zaštitnikom dece. Slavili su ga kamenoresci i bunardžije.

Na Svetog Prokopija se ne valja kupati na reci, izbegava se kopanje, čak i sahranjivanje. Kažu na  današnji dan “ne valja bosti” ni zemlju, ni platno, jer nije dobro zbog ujeda zmija.

Na današnji dan, 303. godine, mučenički je postradao veliki Hristov sledbenik, koga srpski narod posebno slavi. Sv. Prokopije potiče iz Jerusalima. Ime mu je bilo Neanije.

Kada je porastao video ga je car Dioklecijan i toliko ga je zavoleo da ga je odmah uzeo u svoj dvor, gde je bio pri njegovoj vojsi. Kada je Dioklecijan odlučio da progoni hrišćane, poslao je Neanija u Aleksandriju s jednim vojnim odredom i naredio im da zatru tamošnje hrišćane.

Na tom putu jedne noći dogodio se jak zemljotres i Neanije je čuo Božiji glas. Taj doživljaj potpuno je obrnuo i promenio život vojvode Neanija. Tražio je da mu naprave onakav krst kakav je video.

Umesto da krene na hrišćane on je s vojskom ipak krenuo protiv Agarjana, i kao pobednik ušao je u Jerusalim gde je majci rekao da je sada hrišćanin.

Nakon toga mučen je i bačen u tamnicu gde mu se opet javio Hrist koji ga je krstio i dao mu ime Prokopije. Javno je ispovedio svoju veru, znajući da će biti pogubljen. Upokojio je se 303. godine.

U Nišu je pre Nemanjića postojao manastir Svetog Prokopija, u kom se čuvala ruka svetitelja. Svetinja je kasnije, kad su Turci zauzeli Niš, preneta u Prokuplje, koje je i dobilo ime po ovom mučeniku. Sudbina moštiju nije poznata od 18. veka.

U nekim srpskim krajevima smatra se da je ovaj dan pogodan za svadbe, jer Sveti Prokopije pohodi i blagosilja mladence

Srpska pravoslavna crkva i vernici danas proslavljaju Svetog Prokopija, jednog od ognjevitih svetaca. Njegov dan se svetkuje kao jedan od 18 “zaprečitih” dana u godini kada se odlažu svi teži i važniji poslovi.

U pojedinim delovima Srbije današnji dan se posebno praznuje radi zdravlja dece, dok se u nekim danas zabranjuje kupanje.

Prokopije je krsna slava pojedinih porodica, a a kamenoresci i rudari praznovali su ovaj dan kao slavu svojih zanata. Izbegavaju se svađe i psovanje.

U nekim srpskim krajevima smatra se da je ovaj dan pogodan za svadbe, jer sv. Prokopije pohodi i blagosilja mladence. U starini su Srbi rudari smatrali ovog svetitelja svojim zaštitnikom, a smatra se i zaštitnikom dece. Slavili su ga kamenoresci i bunardžije.

Na Svetog Prokopija se ne valja kupati na reci, izbegava se kopanje, čak i sahranjivanje. Kažu na  današnji dan “ne valja bosti” ni zemlju, ni platno, jer nije dobro zbog ujeda zmija.

Na današnji dan, 303. godine, mučenički je postradao veliki Hristov sledbenik, koga srpski narod posebno slavi. Sv. Prokopije potiče iz Jerusalima. Ime mu je bilo Neanije.

Kada je porastao video ga je car Dioklecijan i toliko ga je zavoleo da ga je odmah uzeo u svoj dvor, gde je bio pri njegovoj vojsi. Kada je Dioklecijan odlučio da progoni hrišćane, poslao je Neanija u Aleksandriju s jednim vojnim odredom i naredio im da zatru tamošnje hrišćane.

Na tom putu jedne noći dogodio se jak zemljotres i Neanije je čuo Božiji glas. Taj doživljaj potpuno je obrnuo i promenio život vojvode Neanija. Tražio je da mu naprave onakav krst kakav je video.

Umesto da krene na hrišćane on je s vojskom ipak krenuo protiv Agarjana, i kao pobednik ušao je u Jerusalim gde je majci rekao da je sada hrišćanin.

Nakon toga mučen je i bačen u tamnicu gde mu se opet javio Hrist koji ga je krstio i dao mu ime Prokopije. Javno je ispovedio svoju veru, znajući da će biti pogubljen. Upokojio je se 303. godine.

U Nišu je pre Nemanjića postojao manastir Svetog Prokopija, u kom se čuvala ruka svetitelja. Svetinja je kasnije, kad su Turci zauzeli Niš, preneta u Prokuplje, koje je i dobilo ime po ovom mučeniku. Sudbina moštiju nije poznata od 18. veka.
