Na platou kraj spomenika Nikoli Tesli na Nijagarinim vodopadima održana je centralna proslava Dana državnosti Srbije. Okupljene Srbe i njihove kanadske prijatelje pozdravili su predstavnici ambasade i generalnog konzulata Srbije, Eparhije kanadske kao i čelnici grada i nacionalnog parka Nijagarinih vodopada. Sretenje ove, 2020. godine, u Kanadi će ostati upamćeno po srpskoj trobojci na Nijagarinim vodopadima. Uz prvi sumrak boje srpske trobojke pojavili su se na moćnoj potkovici na kanadskoj strani reke a zatim i na vodopadu na američkoj strani. Potom, na svakih petnaestak minuta, crvena, plava i bela boja osvetljavale su vodu i ledenu paru koju vodopad stvara. A pre toga je bilo zvanično i svečano. Po intoniranju srpske i kanadske himne okupljene su pozdravili kanadski vladika dr Mitrofan, amabasador Srbije Mihailo Papazoglu, generalni konzul Vasilije Petković, gradonačelnik Nijagarinih vodopada Nik Diodati i parlamentarci srpskog porekla Bob Bratina i Tom Rakočević. Okupnjeni narod oko spomenika Nikoli Tesli, čiji je pogled večno uperen ka vodopadima, stigao je iz gotovo svih kanadskih provincija, ali ih je bilo i iz Amerike. Njihovo zadovoljstvo ovakvim obeležavanjem državnog praznika Srbije deli i i amabasador na čiju je inicijativu Sretenje u Kanadi dobilo ovakvu sliku. „Jako sam ponosan što upravo ovakvu sliku možemo da pošaljemo iz Nijagare i Kanade. Mislim da bolju čestitku zemljacima u Srbiji nismo mogli da pošaljemo. Srećan Dan državnosti!“, kaže Mihailo Papazoglu, ambasador Srbije u Kanadi. Na strani srpske proslave Dana državnosti bilo je i vreme, bez snega i sa temperaturom od samo šest stepeni ispod nule. Ostaje slika za pamćenje.
