Paraolimpijske igre u Tokiju svečano će biti otvorene u utorak, a Srbiju će predstavljati 20 takmičara u sedam sportova. „Posle odlaganja usled pandemije i svih mera, Paraolimpijske igre su konačno tu. Ceremonija svečanog otvaranja biće održana u utorak 24. avgusta, kada će oči svih nas biti uprte na Daleki istok. Na Letnjim Paraolimpijskim igrama u Tokiju od 24. avgusta do 5. septembra učestvovaće oko 4.400 sportista iz više od 160 zemalja“, saopštio je Paraolimpijski komitet Srbije. Srbiju će predstavljati 20 sportista i sportistkinja u 7 sportova, koji će dati svoj maksimum i prikazati sebe i svoju zemlju u najboljem svetlu. „Naši sportisti su mnogo truda i rada uložili u pripreme i očekujemo da će nas obradovati medaljama kao i na prethodnim Igrama. Do sada su naši paraolimpijci osvojili 3 medalje u Pekingu, 5 u Londonu i 9 u Riju“, navodi se. Na Olimpijskim igrama, Srbija je nedavno osvojila devet medalja. Paraolimpijske igre bile su ugrožene pandemijom koronavirusa, ali se i to prevazišlo zahvaljujući želji Japanaca da se sve održi još jednom.
