Sreo sam u životu mnogo obaveštenih ljudi; bili su puni nevažnih podataka kao telegrafski imenici ili redovi vožnje.

Postoji i mnogo inteligentnih, a nešto manje pametnih…

Ali, najređi su mudri, kakav je bio Luka Spajić, nepismeni seljak sa Zubaca iznad grada Trebinja.

Pričao mi njegov unuk, doktor Marko, da mu je đed Luka davno kazao: „Šinko, čuvaj se pošljednje!“ i da ga tada nije shvatio, ali da mu je sada ta davna poruka više nego jasna.

Pogledaj, uspeo čovek, karijera mu vrtoglava, pune ga novine i na kraju jedna reč, jedan potpis i ode sve do vraga! Stigla ga ona suđena, ona pošljednja!

Pogledaj ratnika, hrabar, neustrašiv, legenda, misliš već je u istoriji i evo – nije izdržao, prodao cisternu nafte – stigla ga pošljednja!

Na svečanom banketu, u njegovu čast, slavljenik ukrao nekome upaljač.

Mladi ministar se uselio u tuđu, oduzetu kuću…

Što kažu na Zubcima: „S kim te vide, s tim te pišu!“

Kad im najbolje ide, mudri ljudi se najviše plaše da ne načine kakvu grešku, pa da ih ne stigne pošljednja.

Živimo u gradovima punim obaveštenih, obrazovanih i pametnih ljudi; biblioteke su prepune filozofskih rasprava i sistema, a negda gore iznad oblaka, gde su knjige retke, negde na Zubcima, sedi nepoznati mudrac Luka Spajić, gleda u nizinu na taj vrtlog sujete, strasti i pohlepe i mrmlja sebi u bradu bezubim ustima najmudriju misao koju nisam pronašao ni u jednoj knjizi:

„Šinko, čuvaj se pošljednje…“

Kad ga upitaju šta to znači, on odgovara:

„Zlatom pišeš – govnom pečatiš!“
