Gradska biblioteka „Vladislav Petković Disˮ na početku 2021. godine uvodi novu uslugu i otvaranjem čitaonice za osnovce proširuje ponudu Odeljenja za decu i mlade. Čitaonica će biti otvorena 27. januara, na praznik Svetog Save, prvog srpskog prosvetitelja, čime se simbolično naglašava uloga Biblioteke u stalnoj podršci obrazovanju učenika.

Opremljena prema savremenim standardima, prostrana i svetla, nova čitaonica je smeštena na prvom spratu Odeljenja za decu i mlade. Poseduje radni prostor koji čini dvadeset i pet čitalačkih mesta kao i kutak za odmor. Osnovci mogu koristiti bežični internet za rad na svojim uređajima, a omogućena im je upotreba računara sa štampačem. Pored dobrih tehničkih uslova za učenje i rad učinicima su na raspolaganju svi fondovi Biblioteke i stručna pomoć bibliotekara u pronalaženju literature ili informacija koje mogu biti od koristi prilikom izrade domaćih i drugih zadataka.

Korisnici nove čitaonice moraju poštovati propisane epidemiološke mere – nositi zaštitne maske, vršiti dezinfekciju ruku i držati međusobnu distancu, a broj mesta u čitaonici će biti redukovan u skladu sa merama nadležnih institucija.
