Puštanjem osam jedinki evropskog jelena u prostor repro-centra na Trčinogi, započet je proces reintrodukcije ove divljači na Zlatiboru,odnosno nastanjivanje na prostor na kome je nekada postojala pre izumiranja. Šest jelena i dve košute dopremljeni su iz lovišta „Kozara“, iz Bačkog Monoštora. –Projekat traje pet godina i u planu je da u tom periodu naselimo oko 100 jedinki. Naravno, sve će zavisiti od mogućnosti lovišta koje isporučuje jelene. Tara je već ispustila određeni broj jedinki, Nova Varoš takođe, a sada i mi zaokružujemo tu priču povratka jelenske divljači na područje na kojem je nekada davno obitavala – kaže predsednik „Lovačkog udruženja Zlatibor“, Milovan Knežević. Repro-centar je kompletno obnovljen, u skladu sa potrebama prihvatanja i čuvanja jelenske divljači, tako da će oni izvesno vreme provesti unutar ovog prihvatilišta, posle čega će biti pušteni na otvoreno područje lovišta Zlatibor. –Treba da prođe određeni period karantina, pa će sve zavisiti od procene stručnih službi koje će pratiti adaptaciju jelena. Otprilike, to će biti period od dva do tri meseca, posle čega mogu biti pušteni izvan prihvatilišta. Inače, repro-centar obuhvata 18 hektara ograđene površine, a unutra su im obezbeđeni hrana, voda i sva potrebna nega. Popravljena je ograda, napravljene su hranilice za zrnastu i kabastu hranu, kao i pojilišta i solišta. Projekat reintrodukcije jelena sprovodi Ministarstvo poljoprivrede ,Uprava za šume, a u ovom prodručju njime rukovodi LU Zlatibor.
