U čast Branke Matić profesorke
srpskog jezika i književnosti Ekonomske škole, posađeno je drvo „Likvidambar“.
To je prvi put da je neki profesor u Užicu dobio svoje drvo, a sve u znak
zahvalnosti profesorki koja je bila oličenje pravog prosvetnog radnika, i koja
je izmenila i ulepšala živote brojnim generacijama učenika. Ideja da se posadi Drvo života u
čast preminule profesorke javila se u oktobru prošle godine, kada je održan
Javni čas pod nazivom„Misija profesorke Branke Matić i njen uticaj na nas njene
učenike“ . Ova nesvakidašnja akcija je čin kojim se ukazuje poštovanje čitavoj
profesiji prosvetnih radnika. Milica Prljević direktorka Ekonomske škole Užice je istakla da je Branka Matić je bila poseban profesor, omiljena među učenicima ali i među kolegama. Imala je harizmu da više poklanja nego što prima. Zato je i ovo posebno drvo za nju, baš kao što je i ona bila jedinstvena. “Brana je bila profesor neverovatne energije, a uz nju su stasavali i pedagoški sazrevali mnogi profesori Ekonomske škole”, rekla je Ksenija Janjušević profesorka u penziji . Prema rećima Mirjana Radivojčević

posvetili traganjem za najboljim u sebi, uz posvećenost ljudima, pre svega
mladima, posebna je vrednost. U
Ekonomskoj školi Užice postoji i „Fond Branke Matić“, iz koga se svake
godine nagrađuje učenik koji napiše
najbolji literarni rad. A pored inicijative da se posadi Drvo života Branke
Matić, dat je i predlog da se postavi prigodna spomen ploča u Malom parku,
prilikom njegove rekonstrukcije.
