Košarkaši Partizana eliminisani su iz takmičenja u Evrokupu posle poslednje utakmice Top 16 faze sa francuskim Metropolitanom u dvorani “Stožice” u Ljubljani. Crno-beli su poraženi sa 75:70.
Meč je rešen u neizvesnoj završnici, na kakve nas je Partizan ove sezone navikao. Crno-belima je pred početak susreta trebalo da pobede sa najmanje četiri poena i imali su idealnu priliku za baš u četvrtoj četvrtini.
Metropolitanu je posao završavala bilo kakva pobeda kako bi prošao dalje i to je učinio kao prvoplasirani tim grupe. Partizanu su presudila promašena slobodna bacanja, ziceri, ali i nestvaran šut Francuza za tri poena.
Crno-beli su definitivno izgubili momentum u trenutku kada ih je jednom od trojki “presekao” Entoni Braun.
On je iz teške pozicije dao koš za 65:59 u korist Partizana, ali su se igrači Aleksandra Matovića u tom trenutku, posle nekoliko minuta četvrte deonice, naprosto “ugasili”.
Nije im pomogla ni vanserijska partija Rašona Tomasa, koji je radio sve što je mogao, ali je imao premalo podrške sa spoljnih linija, da bi ishod meča bio povoljniji po Beograđane.
Tokom prvog poluvremena Partizan i Metropolitan su bili u potpunom egalu. Jedna stvar je kompenzovala drugu, pa su tako crno-beli gubili lopte i promašivali trojke.
Metropolitan je, sa druge strane, bio slabiji u skoku i imao je raspoloženog Davida Mišinoa, dok je u dresu crno-belih briljirao Tomas.
On je bio aktivan i u skoku i u krađama, ali i na šutu za dva poena. Obe ekipe igrale su u serijama, smenilo se nekoliko njih tokom prvih 20 minuta i najpoštenije je bilo da se poluvreme završi egalom.
Partizan je od starta imao nameru da igru spusti pod koš. To je isprva i prolazilo zahvaljujući Nikoli Jankoviću, da bi posle prvih poena Tomasa beogradski tim posle tri minuta vodio 8:7.
