Srpska pravoslavna crkva i vernici proslavljaju dan Svetog Jovana Bogoslova, apostola i jevanđeliste. Obeležava se dva puta godišnje – na dan smrti 9. oktobra po novom kalendaru, i na današnji dan, kada se, uči hrišćanstvo, svake godine na njegovom grobu dešava čudo.

Sveti apostol i jevanđelist Jovan rodio se u pobožnoj ribarskoj porodici. Zajedno sa bratom Jakovom, krenuo je za Hristom i nije ga napuštao.

Jedini je on, sa Svetom Bogomajkom ostao pod Krstom raspetog Gospoda. Nije ga napuštao već je obećao da će čuvati Presvetu Bogorodicu i služiti je sve do Njenog uspenija.

Kasnije, otišao je u Efes, gde je mnogo naroda preobratio u hrišćanstvo. Bio je proganjan, ponižavan i mučen, ali je poživeo više od 100 godina.

Kada je osetio da mu se bliži poslednji čas, rekao je učenicima da mu iskopaju grob u obliku krsta, u koji je živ sišao. Kada su mu rastuženi prijatelji posle otvorili grob, njegovog tela tamo nije bilo.

Ali svake godine 8. maja po starom, odnosno 21. maja po novom kalendaru, iz njegovog groba širi se neki sitan, mirisan i lekovit prah.

Po narodnom običajnom kalendaru, danas bi ljudi sa sela trebalo da odmaraju stoku, žene da ne diraju pletivo, makaze, niti igle.

Srpska pravoslavna crkva i vernici proslavljaju dan Svetog Jovana Bogoslova, apostola i jevanđeliste. Obeležava se dva puta godišnje – na dan smrti 9. oktobra po novom kalendaru, i na današnji dan, kada se, uči hrišćanstvo, svake godine na njegovom grobu dešava čudo.

Sveti apostol i jevanđelist Jovan rodio se u pobožnoj ribarskoj porodici. Zajedno sa bratom Jakovom, krenuo je za Hristom i nije ga napuštao.

Jedini je on, sa Svetom Bogomajkom ostao pod Krstom raspetog Gospoda. Nije ga napuštao već je obećao da će čuvati Presvetu Bogorodicu i služiti je sve do Njenog uspenija.

Kasnije, otišao je u Efes, gde je mnogo naroda preobratio u hrišćanstvo. Bio je proganjan, ponižavan i mučen, ali je poživeo više od 100 godina.

Kada je osetio da mu se bliži poslednji čas, rekao je učenicima da mu iskopaju grob u obliku krsta, u koji je živ sišao. Kada su mu rastuženi prijatelji posle otvorili grob, njegovog tela tamo nije bilo.

Ali svake godine 8. maja po starom, odnosno 21. maja po novom kalendaru, iz njegovog groba širi se neki sitan, mirisan i lekovit prah.

Po narodnom običajnom kalendaru, danas bi ljudi sa sela trebalo da odmaraju stoku, žene da ne diraju pletivo, makaze, niti igle.
