Na dan kada se navršava punih 40
godina od smrti Josipa Broza Tita, doživotnog predsednika Socijalističke Federativne
Republike Jugoslavije, brojni Užičani položili su cveće kod Titove spomen
biste, koja se danas nalazi iza zgrade užičkog Narodnog muzeja.
Spomen bista Josipa Broza Tita, monumentalno delo hrvatskog vajara Frana Kršinića, visoka je 4,75 metara i jedna je od najvećih Titovih bisti koja je ikada napravljena. Punih 30 godina Titov spomenik na Trgu bio je jedan od simbola Užica, grada koji je od 1946. do 1991. godine nosio i Titovo ime.
„Josip Broz Tito bio je vođa Partizanskog pokreta otpora čiji je centar bio u Užicu 67 dana za vreme trajanja Užičke Republike, tada jedine slobodne teritorije u celoj Evropi. Za Užičane je tokom Drugog svetskog rata i po njegovom završetku Tito bio oličenje velikog junaka i velikog vojskovođe. Taj kult ličnosti on je potvrdio kroz istoriju i postao jedna od najznačajnijih istorijskih ličnosti 20. veka”, kaže Goran Novaković, kustos-istoričar Narodnog muzeja Užice.
Titova bista u Užicu postavljena je
1961. godine na Trgu Partizana, a posle političkih promena 1991. godine
premeštena je u Narodni muzej, koji se do današnjih dana stara o ovom
spomeniku.
„Ovo je mesto gde se čuvaju tekovine borbe i pružanja otpora okupatoru u Drugom svetskom ratu. Titov spomenik je deo tog kompleksa. Između ostalog, i novi projekat uređenja platoa zgrade Narodnog muzeja podrazumeva i postavljanje nove staze do same biste“, navodi kustos-istoričar Goran Novaković.
Od trenutka uklanjanja Titove biste sa užičkog trga bilo je pokušaja da se ovaj, svojevremeno simbol Užica, vrati na centralni gradski trg. Brojni su pobornici i pristalice među stanovnicima Užica i sa jedne i sa druge strane, ali uprkos sporadično pokretanim inicijativama, spomenik nije ni uklonjen, a ni vraćen na trg.
Od ranih jutarnjih časova, bilo je pojedinačnih poseta, polaganja cveća kod Titove biste, između ostalog, ostavljen je danas i buket sa posvetom nekoga ko je služio pod Titovim zapovedništvom. Narodnom muzeju Užice, najavljene su posete i posle policijskog časa, kada naši sugrađani stariji od 65 godina, mogu da izađu u šetnju i koji su odlučili da to vreme iskoriste da posete Titov spomenik.
